Dr. Jonathan J. Egel is a clinical pharmacist with over 15 years of experience specializing in the treatment of various cancers, including benign and malignant hematology, solid tumor oncology, and gynecologic oncology.

Currently practicing at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, the Barrett Cancer Center, and the Blood Cancer Healing Center, Dr. Egel works with multidisciplinary teams to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to those battling cancer.

Dr. Egel earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) with Honors from Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and has since focused his career on advancing oncology care. With a deep commitment to improving patient outcomes, Dr. Egel brings invaluable clinical expertise to the board

of Hope Floats Cancer Organization, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families through the emotional, physical, and financial challenges of cancer.

Motivated by a passion to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families, Dr. Egel is dedicated to helping Hope Floats expand its reach and provide essential resources, support, and hope to those in need. Through this role, he aims to ensure that cancer patients and their loved ones have access to the services they need to navigate their cancer journey with strength and dignity.

Outside of work, Dr. Egel resides in Mt. Lookout with his husband, Mike, and their cat, Gatsby. Together, they enjoy spending time with friends, trying new restaurants and exploring all that Cincinnati has to offer. Dr. Egel is passionate about giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of others through initiatives that promote community outreach, fundraising, and impactful program development.

FAQs

Is there a limit of financial assistance for services?
Yes, services are utilized for patient undergoing ACTIVE treatments. Per calendar year up to $1,500. Patients may reapply each calendar year as long as they qualify.
To receive our services, please have your physician complete the Patient Diagnosis Verification Form below and submit it to us for approval. Once completed, you will be assigned an account number. When arranging services with our vendors, please provide your account number with Hope Floats. Hope Floats is committed to assisting individuals and their families facing cancer in Greater Cincinnati. Patients must be adults over 18 and currently undergoing active treatment. We are always looking for volunteers to help with major fundraising events, hosting a fundraiser with your family or friends, or even back end help for fielding calls and talking with patients who may want more information regarding our organization. Our volunteers make our organization run, so any amount of assistance you are able to provide is always greatly appreciated. Want more specifics, please feel free to contact us.
