Executive Director
As the Executive Director of Hope Floats, Gina brings a deep commitment to advancing cancersupport in the Cincinnati area. With 24 years of Nursing experience, and over 12 specifically in Oncology, she understands first hand the lack of resources patient’s have access to battling cancer. Gina has dedicated her career to creating impactful programs, fostering partnerships, and inspiring hope for individuals and families affected by cancer.
Gina started Hope Floats in March 2024 with a clear vision: to build a community of support and action that improves outcomes for cancer patients and survivors. Under her leadership, Hope Floats strives to relieve the burdens of daily life for cancer patients and their families by partnering with community businesses, outreach programs, and counseling centers, and more. The focus on accessibility and outreach has enabled Hope Floats to reach patients of all backgrounds in order to receive the assistance they need.
Before taking on the executive director role, Gina held positions in Oncology Case Management, Oncology Nurse Navigation, and Oncology Infusion at UC Medical Center. Known for her hands-on approach and empathetic leadership, Gina is driven by a personal connection to cancer, having cared for her own father as he successfully battled cancer twice. She recounts many life changing relationships with patients and their families that helped form her passion in Oncology. With her vast knowledge of Oncology nursing and personal experience, she began to assess first hand the lack of services in our community that could directly help offset some of the daily stress in fighting cancer. Deciding to fill that gap in our community, she started Hope Floats as a way to help cancer patients and their loved ones to focus on less of the burdens of cancer, and more of the living, respite, and healing.
Gina graduated with a Bachelors in Science in Nursing from College of Mt St Joseph in 2001, then decided upon furthering her education in 2012 with Masters of Organizational Leadership and Development. In 2013, Gina began a nationally certified Oncology Nurse.
Gina resides in Madeira Ohio with her husband Jacob, and 2 children, Wyatt and Graham. She is an active member at St. Gertrude school as the current PTO president. Gina and her family are active members at both Horizons Church and St Gertrude Parish. She has a long standing passion for being physically active and enjoys cycling, walking and weight training on a weekly basis. In her downtime, Gina and her family can be found attending the many sports and extra curricular activities their children participate in, along with building memories with friends and families.
